Victoria’s Secret Swim Wear Launch

Omg it’s almost April?! Almost Summer? Most importantly, almost bikini season?

I’ve been doing a lot of work building up to this Summer season…meaning the gym and some extra water with lemon. These upcoming months are going to be life changing for me, and I know 2019 has some rewards for you too.

It felt like forever waiting for Victoria’s Secret (VS) to drop their swimsuit line. But I totally understand the point of making us wait closer towards the warmer times of the year.

They released the exciting news on March 18th with several pictures and of course, a video on the beach.

I didn’t hear much about it on social which kind of worried me so I thought I’d check them out myself. Ready for my dissapointments? Ready for my favorites? Let’s jump in.

IMG_9510

Let me add, there were over 300 options to choose from on the VS site which made me wonder how much originality could go into the line without becoming overdone. They also announced MORE swimsuits will be added as time goes on.

I think my first dissapointment gave me that impression. The ruffles go too far down for my liking and I like to lengthen my turso as much as possible when wearing a one piece; this would hide the illusion I’m trying to create at the beach.

IMG_9512

The bottom is cute and dainty which could’ve made the swimsuit if it wasn’t for the top. Having the straps all the way towards the ends of the collarbone gives me a bigger chest than I want. Not in the boob-size way, but broader shoulder way..which is not my style.

IMG_9511

I saw this and I instantly thought of PINK! Not Victoria’s Secret. Which gave me the idea that PINK should create their own swimsuit line too since they already want to appeal to a different demographic of women. Do you agree? When I think of VS, I think of sexy and sophisticated.

IMG_9513

My eyes are straining right now! The clash of polka dots and strings of black and white across the chest are too much. This could easily take away the focus of yourself which isn’t what you want. I want something that complements me, not overtakes me.

IMG_9514

Geez, what was with me and one pieces today? Like I said, I need the focus to be me and there’s just too much going on color-wise, it’s distracting. The straps going up her shoulders are too thick, along with the strings falling over. I don’t get the vibe of swimsuit, more like bodysuit!

Woohoo! On to my favorites.

913998de-3093-4947-bbae-404be4ed4e5b

No doubt I love the color pink. And now it’s paired with purple as a triangle top. The bottom wasn’t what I expected either! I love the look of strings opposite of the band, it gives it that oomph I’ve been waiting for.

36a8b0f0-d64e-4b25-816c-a5a9d33dd27e

Okay a one piece suit I finally like! The chest is elegantly exposed and the collar bones appear heightened which is exactly what I want. The light pink flower design is soft and graceful which is a good keep in your closet.

323a9bdf-de02-4d7c-9dce-c999f1f8e5bb

I saw a preview of this suit and was stunned by its simplicity and touch of strings right above the waist. It also came in a bunch of colors but of course purple was my go-to. This could potentially be a really cute suit IF the strings don’t get loose around the waist and droop down..

img_9520

I want creative designs but I also want simple designs. Reason being because the more simple it is, the more accessories I can add to play it up each time. Additionally, each time can be a different style centered around pink as opposed to a pattern that must be followed each wear! Get me?

8b77f321-13db-467f-a084-e6d898b6c67e

To make my waist appear smaller, dainty pieces are the way to go. Not only for shape but your tan will look way better when you take your swimsuit off. The cut framing her chest is really modern now; in the past the cuts used to cover more. The color combo is also gorgeous, it reminds me of fresh spring!

Lastly! A piece to add for my ladies traveling around the world. This is an elegant and conservative swimsuit to travel to places you’re not sure of yet. Not just for the fear of the unknown, but some cultures see two pieces as innappropriate and highly offensive. It’s important while traveling to adjust yourself to their society because you’re in their country now and that’s your way of offering respect. This piece is a great way to fit in but also stand out when it comes to design with the green leaves draping down the side.

Overall, VS offers great simplicity with triangle tops and dainty one pieces. I’d like to see some more creativity with the straps on the tops and more diverse bottoms. I also want to say THANK YOU VS for not only selling thong bottoms. It seems like such a trend to show your whole ass in a bikini and I’m not sure if that’s my style yet…anyone else on board with me?

That’s it! So what did you think? Is it worth checking out yourself on VS.com?

Comment below your favorite and dissapointment!

Amp up for the club

Happy Sunday everyone!

Cheers for a new week and new ways to stay productive! I wanted to share my clubbing outfit out in D.C because it’s important to dress the part. Or else, no entry?

When you’re going to the club, it’s pretty much expected to dress glam and not like you’re casually going to the grocery store. This is perfect though because it’s pretty much the only excuse I have to wear my slim dresses and high heels!

My friend let me borrow her diamond choker from Fashion Nova and I was AMAZED at how my outfit upgraded just from adding an accessory.

Almost like it was meant to be. The diamond choker went perfectly with my cheetah print skirt from Material Girl. A great way to amp your outfit is to accessorize! A simple yet effective fashion solution 🤗

I was so inspired by this diamond choker from Fashion Nova that I compiled three more accessories from their site that I think COMPLETE any outfit.

Halternative Option Bra Chain ($12.99)

Diamond Ego Hoop Earrings ($8.99)

Snake Time Belt ($9.99)

Whether you want to show off your chiseled jaw or slim waist, there’s accessories for any body structure. I think that’s so important because it gives businesses more room to diversify their products! So basically we don’t all walk in the club with the same earrings…that would be unfortunate.

Take advantage of the summer weather and go out at night! Enjoy the night life and play to your accessories advantage.

See y’all next time xo

Back to Black

Hi everyone!

I hope your Tuesday has been wonderful and get your butt off the couch! Today was a life changing day as I walk around now in my new hair, back to Black!

I originally dyed it in 8th grade and continually kept up with it throughout high school but leaving for college, taking care of it just wasn’t in the picture for me. UGH SO WRONG!

So bottom line, it’s been two years! My amazing stylist hooked me up with Redken Demi Permanent in Onyx Black & Espresso Brown to find a happy medium between the two.

I also trimmed the ends and got that nice, sharp V in the back so I regained that structure for some hair flipping lol.

Gosh, I literally forgot how rewarding and satisfying it feels to pamper yourself this way. I feel rejuvenated? Definitely not going to forget this feeling, self care is such a huge discipline I need to get into!

I also had an interview at a retail store followed by some business emails and preparations for my cell bio class. In the midst of my busy schedule, changing up my hair even if just a little bit really did vamp me up! I feel lighter and like a fresh new Pauly walked right in. 🙂

So for YOU reading this, get that color or cut you’ve been dying for! lol get it?

Enjoy your week xo

A blushin’ crush

I couldn’t wait to share this dazzling, baked blush that I’ve been trying out for some time! If you’re into light pink, shimmery blushes like I am, you’ll definitely want to see this. What better way to bring it onto my blog than right before we get hit with those glowy summer looks!

This blush is from Mary Kay Cosmetics! Although this brand isn’t in my top list to purchase from because it’s not easily accessible, I was given this as a package for Christmas and oh my goshhh, this blush blew me away. It’s like they knew my ideal blush color before they sent it to me!

Before I started writing this post for you guys, I did some research on this blush and its actually a part of a limited edition! WHY?! It’s so perfect, you guys need to get your hands on it. It also said it’s not available to purchase through their website and that you need to contact a Mary Kay Consultant in your area. Pretty inconvenient but they do offer other blushes on their website which I recommend looking through. Here’s the direct link to the blush category!

This limited edition baked blush is in the shade “Kind Heart” and sells for $18 USD with .23oz carved into a heart for a pretty packaging accent. I know we all appreciate cute, thoughtful packaging!

Enjoy these pics ❤

What do you guys think? I love how this blush carves out my cheeks smoothly. On days I don’t want to use bronzer, this blush alone can sculpt my face for me. Another thing I look for in a blush is its subtly. If it’s too pigmented, I find it harder to blend out. Less is more: starting out light is the best way to build up the product. If you’re interested in this limited edition blush for the summer, check it out here!

That’s it for now! I love you guys and I’m so happy I have a family here to share my beauty/fashion experiences with. XOXO

Beach Babe Inspo

Long time, no talk! Sorry I’ve been so MIA for the past month or so. My world did a 180 spin and I had to readjust. But don’t worry, PBC MAG is here to stay and overflow your feed with love, inspo and friendship. Just typing this makes my heart skip a beat!

So as I’ve been undergoing a huge body transformation after my ACL surgery, I managed to lose 6 pounds recently and OMG, the difference feels amazing! I was afraid to look down at the scale for such a long time, but after dedication to the gym and a few dietary changes (in the process of going vegan, but that’s for another post!) I feel healthier, lighter and more beautiful than ever!

My boyfriend has been planning a beach trip with his friends for the Summer and of course I’m tagging along. Which means I NEED new bikinis! This new lifestyle and blossoming body of mine, I’m on the hunt for girly and youthful bikinis. I’ve never been more motivated to stay in the gym and work for these swimsuits.

I’ve assembled some pieces from a kick-ass website one of my besties showed me at a late night sleepover. The brand, Zaful is a women’s online clothing store ranging from dresses to accessories and everything in between for ACTUAL reasonable prices!

The best part, their bikinis come in sets. Meaning you don’t have to purchase the bottom and top separately…can I get an AMEN?!

I follow their Instagram @zaful and just their feed alone is gorgeous! If you’re anything like me, you love following inspo pages to keep the style flowing. I save the pieces I like the most to my insta collection and refer back to them narrowing down options.

Here are some pieces I put together according to theme, enjoy!

Check out Zaful online here!

I had so much fun picking my top 8 favs for now, who knows what I’ll find next month from a new online store!

What’s your bikini dream for this Summer? Have you all been in the gym getting that beach bod ready? Comment below, let’s talk!

Glossy Lips – We’re In

Summer is in full swing and I’m loving the heat. Is it the sweet, refreshing air? Is it that one, catchy song reminding you of a happy life? Or is it the infinite amount of looks you can create with a simple tank and killer gloss?

We’ve all witness the trend of matte liquid lipsticks take over social media the past few years with master brands like Anastasia Beverly Hills and Huda Beauty creating full collections of numerous matte shades. If you haven’t noticed every time a matte collection surfaces, the brand follows the collection with a pairing of vibrant lip glosses. Could it be we just NEED gloss in our lives one way or the other? It’s 2017 and I think I’m seeing the full circle of ‘lip gloss heaven’ resurface.

So why is lip gloss becoming a purse must-have and a sexy Summer style? I’ve got the perfect answers.

First, lip gloss is a cosmetic product that essentially adds shine. Several glosses add a mixture of glittery to metallic looks, to give that full glossy finish. Not only can they be easier to apply but they can bring back life to those luscious lips.

Applying lip gloss can cut your glam time down by a few minutes. Imagine not having to line your lips to get that perfect dimension fitted for your matte lip stick. With lip gloss, it adds dimension by itself and a voluptuous look back to your lips without the hassle of liner. Lip gloss is a two in one product for all your lip-look fantasies.

Without a doubt lip gloss enhances your lips to the poutiest effect and it’s even easier to coordinate with your style of the day. Lip gloss gives you the chance to combine colors together into your perfect cream color. Having a lip product base still creamy enough to swivel around makes the mixture process easier to manipulate and enough time to choose and add colors. On the other hand, adding a glossy finish can take your look a notch down if you realize your lippie is a bit too bold for your liking. Just add a touch of gloss a shade lighter to your lip stick and voila, a brand new you.

My reasoning behind this lip gloss phenomenon is because of the ultimate trend happening as of late 2016 and carrying till this day – that poppin’ highlight. It’s no wonder we love all things glittery and gleam-looking, the highlighter trend has been giving us a frenzy. Nothing screams natural and dewy-kissed than a perfect, almost blinding highlighter. We love the shine and we love the glossy look it gives back to our skin after our face makeup dulls our natural radiant beauty. Right, ladies?

So take my advice! If you love the highlight look, you’re going to love lip gloss for the rest of the summer. Think of it as a match made in heaven for all my friends who love to be a glowing goddess throughout the day. Who knows, maybe even carry the trend to Fall with a bold, glossy, burgundy lip.

If you’re a beginner to lip gloss, try NYX Butter Gloss from Ulta Beauty for $4.99. NYX Cosmetics does an amazing job adding a light sheen to over 50 shades. They also claim to moisturize and condition your lips for a smooth finish. So if you’re not into sticky, pigmented lip gloss, this one is the way to go.

If you’re into a bold and glossy look, Anastasia Beverly Hills available at Sephora for $16 killed the game with their unbeatable lip gloss collection. Not only are they all heavily pigmented with glittery sheen reflex, but they’re extremely thick on the lips giving off that pouty, voluptuous look that will stay on for hours. Their brush applicator makes applying gloss easy and quick to achieve.
